Autumn Fashion- How to Take the All Black Clothing Trend from the Catwalk to Real Life
Hey Peeps, it’s Monday already! I don’t know about you but I feel like November is going to whizz by and I’m not so sure I’m happy about that. Anyhoo, if you are on Instagram, you’ll see that from Autumn fashion to Autumn leaves, everyone’s trying to capture their perfect Autumn moment. One of the things I love about Autumn is I get to experiment further with all black clothing. If you follow my blog, you’ll know I wore a lot of black outfits during the summer and well, my reign of darkness continues! Continue reading to see how I take the Autumn/Winter 2016, All Black trend from the runway to real life.
Seeing all black outfits on the Autumn/Winter 2016 runways is hardly surprising, but I never get tired of seeing what spin fashion puts on the non-colour trend each autumnal season. If the below shows of Rodarte, DSquared2 and Marc Jacobs are anything to go by- it’s all about the drama.
In this post, I want to show you how it’s possible to slay trends by treating the platter of designer runways like a buffet.
From the 3 images above, it’s clear to see that the trend is black- each designer brought their own vision of black to the runway, for e.g. DSquared2 gave a nod to the Victorian era with their theatrical choices of velvet, ruffles, embroidery and the like.
When it comes to footwear, designers like Burberry sent their models down the runway in some stompn’, ‘I don’t take any shit and I came to rock the fuck out’ boots-
At first glance these catwalk looks may seem too much or fancy dress like for real life, but the secret is to pick the strong looks from the platter, so for e.g. from the above catwalk images I’m extracting themes like- mixing textures, layering, metallic hardware boots, statement tights etc. So bearing that in mind, this is my version of the all back Autumn trend-
This Autumn, black is B-O-L-D, one look at the vamp meets goth makeup looks on the above models says it all. I did the bold thang in my own way via the accessories in my hair and on my face.
Peeps, what do you think of my nose ring? I began seeing Afros n Nose rings everywhere on Instagram and thought I’d join the gang!
And there you have it folks, for Autumn fashion looks that are on trend, it’s all about swapping, embellishing and downsizing, I may not be able to flounce down the street in Marc Jacob’s feather jacket concoction, but my faux fur gilet still picks up with the wind! I can’t afford Rodarte’s leather jacket, but I got my leather Peekaboo vintage skirt at a great bargain. Burberry’s metallic studded boots look pretty fly and so do my Oxley beauties at a fraction of the price.
So guys are you Team #AllBlack? How do you do Autumn fashion?
